News from December:
Men kolla in hemsidan då och då ändå.

News from October 31:
"AN EVENING WITH WEEPING WILLOWS"
Gästmusiker:
Stråkorkestern Stockholm Strings (Brian Wilson, Arthur Lee's Love mfl), Andy Bell (Oasis) ochMartin Hederos.
Gästsångare:
Ian McCulloch (Echo & The Bunnymen) och Jens Lekman.
DJs:
Pet Sounds.
Biljetter: www.ticnet.se och de vanliga biljettställena.
Vi längtar!
//Weeping Willows.
PS.
.........................................
We've had a good year 2007. Our album "Fear & Love" was released in February and was very well recieved. Maybe it's our best album ever. We have been touring since it was released and that has been great too. We think we are better than ever. The pieces we've collected over the twelve years we've been together has now made a beautiful jigsaw puzzle. This spring we did 20 club gigs around Sweden and Finland, in the summer we did 8 Festival dates and during the autumn we did another 10 club gigs. On top of that we did numerous TV and radio shows plus the "Allsång På Debaser" in August. We've constantly changed the set lists during the year and also picked up quite a few cover songs along the journey. As we said we've had a great creative year.
We want to celebrate this with a grand gig in our hometown Stockholm December 19. It will be a long night at Chinateatern with lots of songs and very special guests.
We have planned this concert for quite a while now and are happy and proud to present:
"AN EVENING WITH WEEPING WILLOWS AT CHINATEATERN, STOCKHOLM, DECEMBER 19"
Featuring Stockholm Strings. (The string orchestra behind Brian Wilson and Arthur Lee's Love's last tours).

The Tour.
Last Friday WW visited Sundsvall's beautiful venue Spegelsalen and played to a sold out audience of 600 people. It was great and WW themselves thought it might have been the best gig this year! It was one of those nights when everything is just perfect.
Interviews Dagbladet >> and ST >>
The day after WW went to Östersund to play at the new gig venue at Quality Hotel. It was a really good night which ended with a fainting girl in front of the stage during the last song. After it was made sure she was perfectly all right (it looked very scary when people were checking her pulse) the band came back on and played one more song.

The Allsång At Debaser nights were fantastic.
On the second night the secret guests were Per Sunding (Eggstone) who sang "Sun King" and "There She Goes" (The La's) and Peter Morén (Peter, Björn & John) who sang "Young Folks" and "Dreaming Of You" (The Coral). On the third and last night the secret guests were actor Lennart Jähkel who sang "Love Will Tear Us Apart". Markus Krunegard (Laakso) & Peter Jöback sang "Helsinki Vs Italy" and "Friday I'm In Love" (The Cure). Olas son Aron sang "Don't Loook Back In Anger".
The last night ended with a surprise: Stag Night for Anders. As an encore he was dressed up in a chicken suit and Magnus took over his drums on "I Wanna Be Adored". Anders was then forced to sing. Something he has always dreaded...
Anyway; the Allsång was better than ever and we hope to be back next year with new songs and new guests.

News from August 6:
The premier night of "Allsång På Debaser" was magic.
Totally sold out, as usual, and the crowd was on their toes from the start. Magnus didn't have to sing much since the audience completely took over. Great! There were four secret guest artists in the line up: Theodor Jensen (The Plan), Annika Norlin (Säkert! & Hello Saferide), Adam (Shout Out Louds) + Anna Ternheim (who suddenly just appeared on stage during the final number). A truly fantastic night! It was also Magnus birthday so the audience sang Happy Birthday for him. The songs played: The Universal, There Is A Light That Never Goes Out, I Am The Resurrection, In The City (Adam), Shine On, Beautiful Ones, Let's Leave (Theodor), The Only One I Know (Theodor), Work, Young Folks, Sit Down, A New England (Annika), Vi Kommer Att Dö Tillsammans (Annika), Last Nite, The First Of The Gang To Die and Don't Look Back In Anger.
Next week there will be new songs to sing along to and new secret guests. If you're in town DON'T MISS THIS. Just remember that there is no ticket presale so be there well in time. Debaser opens at 9 PM on Friday.

News from August 1:
The summer has been good for WW.
The bad weather hasn't affected their gigs much, since the rain for some reason always stops during their shows. The summer tour started off in Köping, at a cozy place called Ögir. It's run by an old friend of the band. WW played outdoors and it was a fairly big audience. The weather was ok.
The day after WW played at Peace & Love in Borlänge. As usual it rained but stopped during the show. It was a top night with a big crowd and the festival was really good situated in the middle of town. Arvika Festival was next and WW played in the big tent after all the other bands had finished, at 2 am in the morning. It was very cold but the tent was packed to the limit. Review>>
The band loved it and "Broken Promise Land" was a nice finish in the early morning light. Magnus was invited to join the band (Ingenting) on stage but was happy with enjoying their gig from the audience.
Then they flew up to the far north for a gig in Tornio, Finland. Täällä on kaunista! It was indeeed beautiful and WW headlined Saturday on Tornio Football Ground. The midnight sun never went down and it was a day & night filled with good local food and drinks. Kiitos!
Magnus went on to do a DJ set at Surfers in Visby for two nights. July 20 WW were back in Finland. This time Häämenlinna Festival an hours drive from Helsinki. A good crowd greeted them and as usual it rained before and after the show.
They flew back to Sweden to play the Bollnäs festival which was located a bit too far outside of the town at the Sävstaås Sports ground. Bollnäs is beautiful and it would be better if the festival was held in the town. There could have been more people. WW played between Nordman and The Hooters... The night ended with a legendary after party with Pain.
On the Sunday afternoon WW drove to Alunda for a double gig in the small and cozy barn (Very Hank Williams) Ekebyladan >>It was like time travelling back to the 50's with a bit of Twin Peaks added.
Tuesday July 24 WW secretly was the support band for Sigge Hill at Café August in Hudiksvall. It was packed and the record audience of 1100 people were given a fun packed night. Magnus sang a couple of songs and Staffan Hellstrand and Ida Maria did three songs each. The show ended with everyone on stage doing Van Morrisons "Gloria". Magnus DJ'ed afterwards.
Then WW were off again to the south western coast of Sweden. Majas Strandcafé in Varberg is a great little place and it was sold out. A very good audience. Majas is situated on the beach and the bay is famous for being a wind surfers paradise. Again the rain stopped during showtime. Magnus was surprised to find his old friend Marcus Törncrantz (manager for Bob Hund) working as a waiter/DJ over the summer. Indeed a GOOD night.
Malmö was next and again it was pissing down from the dark skies. Kristofer Åström did a great support act (Check him out!). The crowd was very brave in the rain but of course the sun appeared when WW entered the stage. They did "Always On My Mind" as a duet with Kristofer. After the show WW rushed away for a Stag Night for Anders. He's getting married soon and the band surprised him with all sorts of shenanigans. The Stag Night ended around lunchtime when it was time to get some rest and travel to Helsingborg Festival where WW headlined the Gröningen tent stage.
Next week it's time for the "Allsång At Debaser". Three Fridays of Indie singalong and great secret guest artists. Dates: August 3, 10 & 17. Show starts at around Midnight.
There will be more club gigs in the autumn.

My funny Valentine. Sweet, funny Valentine.
You make me smile with my heart.
Your looks are laughable, unphotographable.

The new single "The Burden"/"The Moon Is My Witness"
out on January 3, 2007.
In the fall of 2005 we released an album that compiled our first ten
years as a band. We had by then gone from a dramatic 60's sound via semi
electronic anthems to grand guitar rock. During all these years we have
occasionally also recorded stripped down acoustic songs. Sometimes the
least arranged songs have become the most grand ones. Left more to the
imagination of the listener. Sometimes less is more. We started working
on our new songs last spring. Slowly but surely we understood that this
album was going to be calmer, more naked and more romantic than "Presence".
In many ways we have travelled further with the new material but at the
same time we have returned to the kind of music we did at the time of
"Broken Promise Land". Andy Bell from Oasis was
brought in to produce and Sigge Krantz (winner of a couple of Swedish
Folk music production Grammy Awards) was hand picked to engineer
Our recording sessions during the summer has been very pleasant and giving
for us. We did whole takes of the songs and tried to keep away from too
many overdubs. We wanted to have an organic live feel to this album. When
we needed an extra musician we brought in Martin Hederos or Andy
Bell. Patrik Andersson played on one of the tracks. Everything
was kept within the family. When it was time to mix the songs we wanted
to bring in someone from outside. Someone who hadn't been involved with
the recordings to take the songs to another level. Mikael Herrström
did this at Atlantis, the best studio in Sweden.
Now it is finished at last. Our first album in three years. We are proud
of every second of it. It's called "Fear & Love"
and is released on Valentines Day, February 14.
The first single is called "The Burden"/"The Moon Is
My Witness" and is released on January 3.
We will play acoustic versions of our new songs live on Swedish radio
P3. Wedenesday December 20, 8 pm-10-pm on a show called Musikjournalen
Live.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
See you on the other side,
//Weeping Willows.

News from November:
FEAR AND LOVE.
The new album will be called "Fear and Love". A single
will be out in January. All the tracks have been mastered by Henrik
Jonsson in Stockholm and the artwork is being made. There's some hard
tasks left for the band: To decide which of the songs will go on the album
and which ones will be left out. And find out in what order the songs
should be in? We'll just have to wait and see...
Magnus sings lead vocals on The Sweptaways upcoming Christmas
EP "Cry Cry Christmas" (co-written by Magnus) and "Silver
Bells" (chosen by Magnus). Backed by The Gray Brigade
these are two Phil Spector fuelled X-Mas songs with the Swedish
girl choir The Sweptaways. Out on Hybris within a couple of weeks.
Magnus club Bangers'n'Mash is going very well and last week Alan
McGee did a triumphant set. As the man himself said: "After
"I Am The Resurrection" it all went nuts. It was monumental.
600 mad vikings on the dance floor!" Guest djs next time (December
2): Fredrik of The Embassy and Eric of The Tough Alliance.
Magnus sang a couple of songs with Lars Winnerbäcks backing
band Hovet at Mosebacke on November 14. "Everyday Is Like
Sunday", "The Drugs Don't Work", "She Said She Said",
"There She Goes" and duetted "Perfect Day"
with Per Persson of Perssons Pack.
Anders is out on tour with old compadre Stefan Sundström
this autumn. Reports say it's good and if you see him say Hi from the
rest of the band. We miss him.
Ola and his band Club Killers played on the Love boat (between
Stockholm and Helsinki) and he is still a bit sea sick, reports say.
Magnus played records at the release party for Oasis new "Best
Of" album in Stockholm and he also did a strange dj set at Bongo
Bar in Jönköping the other week.
Even weirder: Magnus toasted/rapped (!) at Swedish reggae star Papa
Dee's birthday bash. As a surprise appearence he rapped Papa Dee's
1988 break through tune "Microphone Poet" with originals
Rob'n'Raz backing him on keys and turntables. He was not offered
a hip hop record deal from the record company representatives present.
We're all thankful. We don't need another Vanilla Ice. It was good
fun though!

News from October:
The New album.
Slowly but surely we're finishing the work on the album and it will probably
be out in early February 2007. Everyone involved in the making has been
nothing less than brilliant! The pieces of the puzzle are being put in
the right places.
The new songs are now being mixed by Micke Herrström at Atlantis
Studios in Stockholm. He's doing a wonderful job, as always.
The artwork for the album will be made by the steady hands and the delicate
mind of Sakari Paananen.
Can't wait to go on tour again. We'll be on the road from approx
April 2007.
Magnus was part of a lineup of artists celebrating the 40th anniversary
of The Beatles Revolver album at Stampen.
The entire album was played in the correct order with a short break between
the A & B sides. Magnus sang "She Said She Said".
Anders will be on tour this autumn. He will be drumming for Stefan
Sundström.
Magnus, Robert Plaszczyk and Andy Bell runs the club Bangers'n'Mash
at Marie Laveau in Stockholm every second saturday. On the 21st of October
Ebbot of TSOOL will be the guest dj. Interesting!
Niko is writing music for the great dance coreographer Mats Ek
again.
Club Killers celebrated their 4th anniversary by doing a Two Tone
Special at Debaser. Vocal guests included Howlin´Pelle of The Hives
and Magnus sang "Friday Night Saturday Morning" by the Specials.
Magnus will be doing 4 songs with Andy Bell and Janne Schaffer at the
Ted Gärdestad concert.
"Sawdust Caesar" by Stisch feat Magnus Carlson is the
most played song on Australian radio at the moment. It's number one on
Kiss FM's playlist. I The song is also featured on Tom Novy's mix cd "Nouveau
Niveau Volume Two: Ibiza Sessions".

News from September:
Autumn is here at last!
Weeping Willows have now recorded 15 brand new songs for their upcoming
album.
The songs were recorded in Stockholm in an old fashioned way. The songs
have been written by all band members and they are extremely happy with
the result. It will be a more laid back album and the music is a nod to
their earlier days when the music was more influenced by the 60's. All
tracks are produced by Andy Bell of Oasis. Together with engineer
Sigge Krantz Andy will now mix the tracks and hopefully the new
album will be ready for release in December.
Martin Hederos of The Soundtrack Of Our Lives plays on some of
the songs and Patrik Andersson of Barr also guests on two tracks.
The work has been done althrough the summer.
We will be back with more details about the songs and the album soon.
The six Allsång På Debaser nights this summer were
all big successes.
Sold out every time and people left the venue with smiles on their sweaty
faces.
Secret guests this year included Moneybrother, Timo Räisänen,
Adam of Shout Out Louds, Markus of Laakso, Monty's Loco, actor Lennart
Jähkel, Cesar of Caesars Palace and Hello Saferide.
Magnus sang with Håkan Hellströms band in Gothenburg
last month.
The songs: Bittersweet Symphony, Cycles, Stairs, Everyday Is Like Sunday,
Panic, Nu Kan Du Få Mig Så Lätt, I Wanna Be Adored and
Never Let Me Down Again.
Magnus will do two songs with Andy Bell and Janne Schaffer
on the Ted Gärdestad 50 Year Anniversary gig at Cirkus in
Stockholm on October 16. Freddie Wadling and Sofia Karlsson
will also participate.
Magnus were secret guest alongside Ola Salo of The Ark and reggae
star Papa Dee at two gigs with Sigge Hill in Hudiksvall
this summer. He sang My Way, Blue And Alone, Norra Kyrkogatan 35, Only
The Lonely, Always On My Mind and Heroes.
Ola has been doing some gigs with his and Anders Ska band Club Killers
as well as playing with Swedish bohemian Kjell Höglund.
Weeping Willows are also acting as themselves in the popular Swedish movie
Offside which premiered in August.

News from July 6th:
Magnus was on Radio Stockholm last Sunday. For one hour he took a trip
down memory lane on a show called "Mitt Liv I Låtar"
("My Life In Songs"). He talked and played songs from his
whole life. For example the first song he remember from his childhood, the
first record he ever bought, what he listened to when he grew up and what
he's grooving to nowadays.

News from June 6th:
Since we have a lot of foreign visitors this site will be in english from
now on. The biography will be translated into english during the summer.
A nice person from Germany has put up a Weeping Willows page at Myspace:
www.myspace.com/weepingwillowsfansite
Danke Schön, Michael!
WW has been in the studio recording some new songs! They were
recorded totally live and produced by Andy Bell and engineered by Sigge
Krantz. Martin Hederos popped by and played organ on two of the tracks.
WW will try to record new songs during the summer and hopefully have an
album finished in the autumn.
This summer WW will be the house band at "Allsång på
Debaser" ("Singalong at Debaser") for six fridays.
Debaser is a rock club in Stockholm. WW did this last year at it was a
smashing success. Full house every time and a fantastic crowd atmosphere!
The "Allsång" is a night of indie classics (Stone Roses,
Oasis, La's, Coral, Verve, Cure, Smiths and so on) played by WW and the
crowd sings the lyrics! Every one in the audience gets a free lyric book
and it's like a massive karaoke. WW always have secret guest celebrity
stars joining them on stage and the whole thing is hosted by Miss Universum.
Last year Swedish actor Lennart Jähkel sang "Love Will Tear
Us Apart", for example. Allsång dates: July 7, 14, 21 and August
4, 11, 18. Shows starts 'round midnight.
Magnus sang Finnish tango with MA Numminen last week. MA Numminen
is a finnish artist and author. He has a tango band and Magnus was invited
last week to sing four songs at Nalen in Stockholm. He did "Kotkan
Ruusu", "Liljankukka", "Hiljainen kylätie"
and "Nuoruustango". Great stuff! If you are not familiar with
the finnish tango yet you should check it out. WW has always been influenced
by it ("Blue and alone").
In August the Swedish movie "Offside" premieres. WW
has done some music for it and also stars in the film. WW perform some
songs live and has recorded the classic "You'll Never Walk Alone"
for the end scene. The film is directed by Mårten Klingberg and
has an impressive line up of actors: Göran Ragnerstam, Ingvar Hirdwall,
Jonas Karlsson and (former Liverpool FC star) Ian Rush for example)!
Magnus has a monthly club at Marie Laveu in Stockholm, called "Bangers'n'Mash".
During easter Ian McCulloch and Gordy Goudie (Echo and the Bunnymen) dj-ed
there. A few weeks ago Phil Smith (Oasis tour dj) and Andy Bell (Oasis)
made the crowd happy.
Saturday June 10 Dj guests: Peter Hooton and Keith Mullin (The Farm).
Have a nice summer, everyone!
